HoneyBaked Ham located at 2350 Lincoln Highway East in Lancaster is not just a one stop ham shop. The establishment may be your go-to place for the perfectly glazed ham and delicious side dishes, but hidden behind those doors you will find a quaint café. Most people mistakenly think that HoneyBaked Ham only has meals mainly for the holidays. But I have great news! HoneyBaked Ham has so much more to offer!
Before I hit the Café, I check in on my Facebook page. I am still clicking away on my iPhone when Jason asks me where my next food article will be. I tell him HoneyBaked Ham, and he looks at me like I’m a crazy lady. I know his brain is wondering why I am trying to prepare for a big family meal. He says, “Don’t they just serve ham?” No! So much more, and I am the lucky one who gets to experience the delicious flavors.
I go to HBH a little bit after the lunch hour. I meet Lynn who greets me with a warm smile. She takes me to the back of the shop where I see two workers glazing a big ham! I can check that experience off my bucket list! Watch a ham being glazed. Okay, check. We walk back to the front of the shop where there are sauces on display for sale as well as soup mix. There is a refrigerated section filled with side dishes and desserts.
For those who are confused on what HoneyBaked Ham entails, let me proudly inform you! If you aren’t the DIY type but are still hosting the holidays, then jump in your car and get over to HoneyBaked Ham now. You can pick up a glazed ham, side dishes, and dessert. You can also throw in some soup and yummy sauce to really wow your guests. But most importantly, if you are looking for a refreshing place to order your lunch, then I have the solution for you.
HoneyBaked Ham offers Boxed Lunches. First of all, I know everyone loves something that comes in a cute box, but secondly, a boxed lunch is the best way to get exactly what you are looking for! Lynn mentioned that her customers are always pleased with the amount of food that is in the boxed lunches. The meals are also very reasonably priced! When you and your coworkers are ordering from the office, sometimes it takes more effort than necessary to figure out who ordered what. A boxed lunch is simple. It is exactly what you want, designed around your likes and needs. Your name will even be written on the box.
After Lynn shows me around the shop, my stomach is itching for some ham! She goes into the back and starts preparing some samples for me to try. I take a seat and see a customer walk through the door. She seems to be a regular, as the staff greets her by her first name and gets her order ready with a smile.
Lynn reappears with a beautiful Ham and Cheese sandwich on a croissant roll. The croissants are made fresh and are absolutely amazing. I take a bit and right away notice the sauce and ham combo. I keep chomping away. The croissant isn’t heavy. A light and fluffy roll. Lynn also places an assortment of side dishes in front of me. Customers have the option of a variety of sides. The broccoli was a personal favorite! But all sides were fresh and well-seasoned.
Lynn surprises me with another customer favorite. I am already stuffing the rest of my Ham sandwich into a box, but of course I have to try the Turkey Bacon Ranch. Anything with bacon and ranch is good enough for me! I take a couple bites, and I am in love! I cannot possibly eat anymore, and I know Jason loves bacon more than anyone on the planet, so I box up the rest for him. I send him a quick text letting him know he has dinner waiting for him, but he is not allowed to have my croissant! I post the Turkey Bacon Ranch on my Facebook page and a bunch of people comment on how delicious it is.
HoneyBaked Ham is a great café to try out if you are looking to mix up your lunch routine. Fresh sandwiches are always a good enough excuse for me to try somewhere new. The prices are wonderful and the staff members are friendly. The holidays are a busy time for HBH, but that doesn’t mean you and some friends can’t stop in for a good meal. Maybe even pick up some soup to make at home or some sauce to try in your next home cooked dinner.
