Pizza Al Bacio is located on Ryan Run Road in York, PA. Pizza seems to be a staple delivery item. Whenever I am craving a delicious meal, I always think of a hot pizza. Sal, the owner of the restaurant, tells me that Pizza Al Bacio is of course known for their pizzas. If you check out the menu you will see a variety of pizzas available such as: White Bruschetta, Bar-B-Que Chicken, Meat lovers, and Four Cheese just to name a few. Pizza is always on my mind, but I decide to try some different items on Sal’s menu.
I place my order and wait for my meal. My side salad is the first to come out, and I notice little rolls of meat and cheese placed around the dish. The lettuce is fresh, and the dressing is a must have! The rolls of ham and cheese are a great addition to the Italian meal I am about to have. Sometimes a starter salad doesn’t have a high expectation, but I was pleasantly surprised when I received Sal’s salad.
I am still picking at my salad when I see a delivery guy come in with a Carryout Courier jacket. It’s George! I introduce myself, and we chat for a moment. He happily picks up his orders and continues on his way. He mentions he runs between York and Lancaster frequently. George is a hard worker and is quickly out the door with his delivery.
As I wait for my meal I take notice to a maintenance man working on some things around the restaurant. He has a nice rapport with Sal as they make jokes and discuss the different projects. Sal brings the maintenance worker a slice of pizza and coke as he continues working. This puts a smile on my face as I know Sal and his employees treat their customers well.
My ravioli arrives! Perfectly round pods sit in front of me stuffed with cheese and meat. The dish is completely immersed in marinara sauce. I break off some of the fresh garlic bread and dive in. I soak up the sauce with the bread and take my first bite. The bread and sauce is fabulous. I cut a little piece of the ravioli apart and see the cheese slipping away. The dish is hot and delicious. The meat raviolis are excellent. I take a few breaks in the middle of eating. The meal is filling!
A couple people come into the restaurant. One gentleman orders a cold sub and seats himself by the television. The wait-staff is busy answering the phones and preparing orders. Sal is working hard, too. He is bussing tables, helping out his employees, and of course checking on his customers in the dining area.
If you are craving a sandwich, Pizza Al Bacio has a bunch of sandwich options. There are Oven Grinders such as Eggplant Parmesan, Tuna, and Turkey. There are also hot subs and wraps. Before I ordered the ravioli, I considered the Buffalo Chicken wrap. If you are busy at the office during the week, the restaurant offers different lunch specials that would be perfect for delivery. For eight bucks you can get a cheeseburger or Italian sub, fries and a medium drink. That’s an excellent deal!
I am still picking at my garlic bread (because I just can never say no to bread) when one of Sal’s employees brings me out a wonderful creation. A chilled cannoli sits on a plate in front of me. There are cherries lightly pressed onto each side of the dessert. I break it apart and taste tiny chocolate chips along with the delicious filling. It was the perfect sweet to end my meal. Sal also has cheesecake and chocolate layered cake that I would love to try next time!
My experience at Pizza Al Bacio was wonderful, and I am excited to tell my friends about the pizza shop. As a real estate agent, I have a lot of clients who ask me about places to eat, especially pizza shops. Pizza Al Bacio will be the new Hot Spot I tell my clients about!
Hi everyone, I want to share a few things about myself. I have lived in Lancaster County my entire life.
I went to The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and received a Bachelors in English Education and Writing. Currently, I am working as a real estate agent for Berkshire Hathaway, and of course I am doing some writing on the side! I live with my wonderful cat, Waffle in Lancaster City. Besides working and playing with my cat I also read and practice yoga.
